Quality Specialist – Body-in-White & Aerospace

We are seeking an  Quality Specialist – Body-in-White & Aerospace to join our Corporate Quality group.  You will be the voice of the customer and advocate for the company during the design, build, and integration phases of customized equipment.

What you’ll get to do

  • Develop quality control plans for projects based on customer specifications and statement of work (SOW)
  • Develop, coordinate, and support test plans and correlate final test and qualification activities to customer requirements for buy-off
  • Support load test activities and reporting
  • Develop, track, and improve key performance indicators (KPI) across the program delivery process (PDP) related to the aerospace business unit
  • Be the voice of the customer throughout the project lifecycle, advocate for Valiant TMS, and ensure compliance with established procedures and processes
  • Maintain records of certifications required for aerospace projects across all facilities
  • Manage the aerospace supply base, including supplier qualification, development, audits, and performance monitoring
  • Ensure that projects adequately capture NCR, 8D, CAR, and Lessons Learned information
    • facilitate proper closure of issues and coordinate improvement application across similar projects
  • Mentor and train the organization on quality system and tool usage, and raise awareness of quality culture
  • Maintain the integrity of the certified quality system requirements to support the TQM model
  • Provide support in maintaining the internal audit program, participate in internal audits, customer audits, and external audits

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, Engineering discipline is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in quality is required, aerospace experience preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS 9100
  • Knowledge of the aerospace and automotive industry is recommended, experience in the machine tool industry is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills
  • Ability to coordinate teams across functional disciplines
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
