We are seeking a Controls Electrical Engineer at our Automation and Assembly division, who is focused on providing world-class technology solutions to our customers, programming customized equipment such as Battery Tray Assembly and Battery Assembly and Test Systems, Leak Test Equipment, Industrial Parts Washers and Material Handling Automation.

What you’ll get to do

  • Problem-solve with an experienced team from mechanical and controls engineering and skilled trades manufacturing, throughout the entire programming, tryout and installation phases of jobs
  • Perform PLC logic and programming duties at our build locations during the build and debug stage, at customer locations during installation and launch phases, and introduce programming improvements in controls and logic systems that are consistent with customer changes or manufacturing needs
  • De-bug, tryout and verify I/O signals and interference zones in the system, and document controls logic changes with our engineering team
  • Lead training of PLC end-users at customer locations and represent Valiant TMS utilizing results-driven problem-solving skills
  • Assist in training junior team members

What you bring

  • A completed university program in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in designing, installing, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting pneumatic, mechanical and electronic automated equipment in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Official robotic training for at least 1 brand of robot
  • Experience performing PLC Logic and programming duties using the following:
    • AB Control Logix controllers
    • Rockwell programming software – RSLogix 5000 and Factory View
    • Mitsubishi controllers
    • Hitachi controllers
    • Device Net, Industrial Ethernet Net, Profibus, Profinet
    • Winccflex 2007
    • Step 7 version 5.4
    • TIA Portal
  • Automotive and Battery Production experience
  • Experience developing offline Robotic programming and implement for the following robots Fanuc, Hyundai, Yaskawa & ABB robots
  • Ability to update schematics using Eplan software
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally to customer locations
  • A proven ability to work well within a team-based work environment, prioritizing plans of action to accomplish objectives
