We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure & Support Administrator to work with our Infrastructure and Service Desk Team to monitor and maintain daily operations of client and server infrastructure, ensuring that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes administering and supporting core infrastructure components – server hardware, server software, virtual servers, various appliances, wireless, phone systems, keyless entry, and other related network systems. This position will also continually improve the system landscape by monitoring and evaluating server performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput and latency, planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, testing of equipment and defining policies and procedures.

What you’ll get to do

  • Documents existing systems and formulates comprehensive plans for the implementation of new systems and/or improvements
  • Researches and recommends hardware/software purchases
  • Creates, distributes, and awards RFPs as necessary
  • Performs regular inventories of existing IT equipment & reports discrepancies
  • Field incoming help Incidents and IT requests via the service desk application (ServiceNow)
  • Identify and suggest process or systematic resolution to repeatable issues
  • Prioritize and schedule issue resolution, escalating when required
  • Maintain corporate-wide server system to ensure servers are stable, the software is updated with appropriate updates, and downtime is minimized
  • Track system end of life and specify replacements when needed
  • Server, storage architecture, and support (on-premise and cloud-based)
  • Backup/recovery/resiliency administration
  • Disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Active directory/group policies, access rights administration, integrated/advanced authentication

What you bring

  • 5+ years experience in a System administrator role (Servers/Domain Services etc…)
  • Strong knowledge of systems and associated software, hardware, and protocols
  • Strong working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, Active Directory, O365, Azure, Windows Server, SAN is desired
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields are an asset
  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategies and plans
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
  • Ability to set up and configure server hardware
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven working environment
  • Proven abilities to organize, prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrates strong communication and customer services skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail
