We seek a Controls Engineer to join our Aerospace Team, where we design and build automated aircraft assembly tooling, positioning systems, PDUs (power drive units) and AGV systems.

What you’ll get to do

  • Design automation systems that meet customer requirements and specifications using AutoCAD Electrical software
  • Design, write, test, implement and document PLC and HMI software programs
  • Design, oversee and test the production of complex systems and equipment so they function within specified tolerances
  • Analyze proposals, process requirements, equipment, customer product and specifications to develop and produce practical controls designs within the proposed process, budget, timeline and availability of equipment and components
  • Provide the procurement team with technical information about the components of the controls
  • Assist management in tracking engineering progress in terms of delivery and budget performance
  • Debug and programming of complete systems
  • System start-up at the customer site

What you bring

  • Completed post-secondary education in electrical engineering or controls technology
  • Design experience, including familiarity with Aerospace tooling and automation with an emphasis on drive systems, coordinated motion control, vision and automated guidance
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical for drawing
  • Experience with TIA Portal, Rockwell Software or Sysmac Studio
  • Knowledge and experience with vision systems, battery systems and/or Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV)
  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally to customer locations
  • A proven ability to work well within a team-based work environment, prioritizing plans of action to accomplish objectives
