We are seeking a Proposal/Change Estimator to join our team in Auburn Hills, Michigan where we design, build and integrate body-in-white welding and joining production systems for the automotive and commercial truck sectors. Our flexible body shop automation systems and smart work cells help OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers bring their products to life while adapting to rapidly changing technology and consumer demands.

What you’ll get to do

  • Work with the Project Management Team to gather all information required to quote engineering changes
  • Learn and use the change estimating tool and database to gather information and upload quotes and supporting data
  • Engage with the Purchasing Team to gather commercial and/or historical pricing data for use in quotes
  • Attend job kick-off meetings as required to understand the content and scope of work
  • Work with the Engineering Team to ensure designed content matches sold content
  • Prepare, conduct and/or assist in technical presentations to customers when required
  • Conduct line-up for the project team on change orders received
  • Compile all information (change package consisting of before/after information) and if required negotiate change estimates with the customer
  • Maintain tracking system for all changes

What you bring

  • A proven ability to work well within a team-based work environment, prioritizing plans of action to accomplish objectives
  • Bachelor of Applied Science, diploma in technical study or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in cost estimating, and formulating written proposals for automotive automation and tooling
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other computer software
