The FIRST Robotics Windsor Essex Great Lakes Event starts tomorrow, and Valiant TMS is proud to return as a Silver Sponsor.
Supporting FIRST Robotics matters to us because it helps develop the kind of capabilities our industry depends on: problem-solving, teamwork, hands-on technical experience, and the discipline to design, build, test, and improve under real constraints. These students are not just preparing for a competition. They are building skills that carry into skilled trades, engineering, manufacturing, and automation.
This week’s event runs from Thursday, April 9, to Saturday, April 11, at the University of Windsor Toldo Lancer Centre.
We are also pleased to sponsor four teams competing this season:
- Team 4920 Boltheads, Belle River District High School
- Team 1229 Tidal Shift, a community robotics youth team from Windsor
- Team 4688 Saints Bot, St. Anne Catholic High School
- Team 1025 Impi Warriors, Ferndale High School
Team 4920 Boltheads are coming off a strong result at Georgian College, where they finished 5th out of 32 teams.
Team 1229 Tidal Shift continues to build as a community team representing students from nine schools across Windsor-Essex. After reaching the playoffs at McMaster, they also earned the Rising All-Star Award.
Team 4688 Saints Bot is heading into Windsor with playoff experience behind them and a clear determination to keep building on it. We are proud to support them and look forward to seeing what they do this week.
Team 1025 Impi Warriors did very well at both of their district competitions over the last few weeks, and are competing hard to qualify for the FIRST in Michigan State Championship coming up April 16-18, 2026.
We are equally proud that several of our team members contribute their time throughout the season as team mentors, while others serve as judges at the Windsor event. That involvement matters in supporting the students, teams, and their development.
Programs like this help develop technical skills, confidence, and future talent in our communities.
