Workplace Violence Policy

Valiant TMS is committed to providing a work environment and workplace free from acts of violence or threats of violence and has a zero-tolerance policy for actual or threatened violence.

The Company does not tolerate acts of workplace violence committed by or against Team Members or visitors or conduct that creates an intimidating, offensive, or hostile environment. This includes any verbal or physical conduct which disrupts or interferes with another’s work performance or which creates an intimidating, offensive, or hostile environment.

Weapons are prohibited on Company premises or while conducting Company business except to the extent such a policy is prohibited by law.

Valiant TMS has established preventive measures and practices in order to promote compliance with this policy and to maximize our efforts to provide a safe and secure workplace that is free from violence of any kind. These measures and practices include programs to train Team Members to ensure compliance with the legislation and best practices relative to workplace violence prevention.

Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • injuring another person physically;
  • engaging in behavior that creates a reasonable fear of injury in another person;
  • engaging in behavior that subjects another individual to extreme emotional distress;
  • possessing, brandishing, or using a weapon while on Valiant TMS premises or engaged in Valiant TMS business;
  • damaging property intentionally;
  • threatening to injure an individual or damage property; and
  • committing injurious acts motivated by, or related to, domestic violence.


Any occurrence of such conduct shall result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

Any Team Member who believes that he or she has suffered workplace violence in any form, or has witnessed the same, shall report the incident(s) to his or her manager, a Human Resources representative, or any member of the Leadership. If the accused is the supervisor, the Team Member is to go to HR to report the issue. The HR department and Leadership shall investigate and deal with all concerns, incidents, and complaints of workplace violence in a fair, timely and confidential manner respecting the privacy of all concerned, providing final details of the investigation only to those as required by law. Information to be obtained about any individual, will not be disclosed unless the disclosure is necessary for the purpose of investigating or taking corrective action with respect to the incident or complaint. The Team Member who has alleged the workplace violence must also be informed in writing the outcome of the investigation.

Further, Valiant TMS assures all Team Members who report workplace violence occurrences that they shall be protected from any further acts of violence, coercion, or intimidation and any other form of retaliation due to their reporting an incident or participating in an investigation or proceeding concerning the alleged incident(s).

Team Members who violate this policy shall be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

A workplace free from any form of workplace violence is everyone’s responsibility. It is therefore essential that each person understands the importance and benefits of a violence-free workplace.
